Happy New Year! My 2009 VDP drivers door lock won't lock by remote fob, but it will lock with the key. Also, if the drivers door is open the door lock button inside the door won't move unless I close the door. I am guessing these things are connected. Perhaps the door lock actuator?

Any thoughts on this?

Pretty sure that's the way it works-the door has to latch before you can lock it.

Your main problem will be a failed actuator and in all probability the root cause a failed micro switch inside the actuator.

Manual locking does not need the micro switch.
