Hard shifting
I have a 2004 XJR. Recently, the car started shifting hard from 3rd to 4th gear. It also lunges a little when I stop. I'm not getting a check engine light, but I am getting codes P1111 and P0784. I read the P0784 could be a faulty shift solenoid valve, harness, or connectors. Does anyone know where the shift solenoid valve is located? Or can anyone shed some light on what the problem could be?

There is a service buletin that the ZF adaptive shift points are drifting over time and the TCM needs to clear the adaptations are re-learn. It cured the hard shifting for me.
The dealer needs to clear the TCM memory with IDS procedure.
