Headlight washers problem
On these X350 cars the screen wash causes a headlight wash to occur every few screen washes, and has worked perfectly so far.
On my last screen wash cycle a huge fountain erupted from the LH front of the car. On inspection, the washer jet was found to be completely missing, only the rounded cover was still there, and what looked like a rubber moulding beneath it. I took the car to the local main agent and was told the bumper has to come off the fit a complete new washer jet, as the very small jet nozzle at the top of it is not separate, and also is theoretically not removable from the main assembly. Clearly mine HAS separated, (and disappeared), but how can this happen ? Part is not so expensive, but removing/replacing bumper is 2 hours labour, apparently.
Has anybody else suffered a missing headlight washer jet like me ? The main agent service manager told me this was a very uncommon fault. Looking at the new washer jet, it would seem to be pressed upwards against a spring, so presumably "clicks" into place. Could the whole assembly have disappeared down behind the bumper.
Oh, would that I could buy a decent spares catalogue with pictures and a decent workshop manual !!

Hi Veffremov, thanks for the picture, the part the dealer showed me was on your picture. However what seems to have disappeared is the jet nozzle you can see at the top within the hole in the trim piece. The rest of the jet must still be there under the bumper, as the water is still pumped up through the hole, but like Niagara Falls with no jet to restrict and direct it.
