2011 XJ Supersport vs. 2011 XJR
I just plunked down my deposit on a 2011 XJL Supersport scheduled to arrive in November. I've been doing some research on colors and options (I have about a month to make changes before the build), and I came across some renderings of the 2011 XJR...it got me thinking. There are ZERO cosmetic differences between the standard, supercharged, and Supersport aside from the wheels and the badge on the front fenders. I can't imagine that Jaguar is going to leave it that way, and now I'm thinking I might have jumped the gun. I'm certain the next iteration/refresh will have quad exhaust and a sportier front grill. Check out the link below...I can't post pics, but if someone who has authority can post, it'd be most appreciated. The hood scoops and side splitters aren't my cup of tea, but the front fascia and tail are what I would expect from the Supersport/R version. Anyway, after seeing the renderings in the link below, I think I'm going to see about getting my deposit back.

There is no telling when Jaguar will come out with the new XJR--it could be a couple of years and I would think that it would replace the Supersport at that time. I wanted a new XJ now, so I didn't even want to wait for the Supersport to arrive at the end of the year. I usually don't keep a car more than 2 -3 years, so I figure that might be good timing to trade up to the XJR--you know it's going to be a beast and have more than the 510HP in the Supersport.

I'm just bummed and surprised that there are zero external cosmetic differences between the standard, Supercharged, and Supersport other than the wheels and the badge. Basically unheard of. I can't think of another car where this was the case. There's ALWAYS some sort of change to the front or rear fascia...most of the time both. Give me something...anything! I'll take a different exhaust note for God's sake. It's such a glaring oversight, that I know they'll correct it quickly and my Supersport will be passe in 3 months.

Actually, I've read in a couple of car mags that there definitely will be an XJR later with more power and dynamic features than the Supersport. Only time will tell.

Anyone else with the 2011 XJ SC experiencing problems?I'm having many electrical system issues that have been fixed and fail again. Radio, Nav, even the digital dash vanishing, and power windows operating on their own. And, severe engine stuttering, that mirrors the systems of the recall notice for the XF/KK with the same engines. And some myterious loud knocking sound when you go over bumpts (at any speed) coming from rear interior of car. Nice car, but at $90,000, this is very disheartening. Maybe I just have a lemon, as it was one of the first sold.
