Help with Jag XJ8 2004
My mechanic plugged in his computer because my air suspension isn’t always fully inflated but it’s showing no fault when there definitely is, and I’ve got a flashing red light on for the handbreak along with the yellow warning to do with handbrake, this also isn’t being shown as a fault on his computer, any advice will be appreciated
Not enough info to really say. What message is being displayed with the red and amber lights? Just "handbrake fault" or something else?
At a guess, it sounds like your mechanic does not have a scan tool that can access the necessary modules. Retrieving codes for the air suspension and parking brake modules need an OEM level diagnostic tool.

Handbrake fault could be related to loose connection or bad battery. Need a Jag specific scanner for pinpointing suspension errors, but if you aren't getting a Vehicle Too Low or Air Suspension Fault on the dash, it is likely just beginning to creep up.
Hi mooreedward1894,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
To add to mhamilton's and queensnewbie's great replies, generic OBDII scan tools can only read the Powertrain (P-prefix) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Most Air Suspension and Electric Park Brake faults will trigger Chassis (C-prefix) or Network (U-prefix) codes. There are also Body (B-prefix) codes. Ask your mechanic if his scan tool can read Jaguar proprietary B-, C-, and U- codes.
The most common code related to low air suspension is C2302 Levelling Plausibility Error or C2303 Reservoir Plausibility Error. The most common causes of these codes are an air leak somewhere in the system (often a slow leak), and a worn piston ring seal in the air compressor which prevents the compressor from pressurizing the reservoir in the time alloted by the Air Suspension Control Module (ASM).
Problems with the Electric/Electronic Park Brake are common and difficult to diagnose without knowing the trouble codes, so you may need to have your car scanned at another shop if your mechanic's scan tool is not fully-compatible with your Jaguar.
When your car was new, Jaguar dealers used a diagnostic system called Jaguar Land Rover Symptom-Driven Diagnostics (JLR SDD). Many hacked versions have been available on the market over the years, so many of us have working SDD systems set up on old laptops. But there are plenty of other scan tools that can read all the Jaguar codes, such as those made by Autel, Launch, Autologic and AutoEnginuity (with the Jaguar extension), and the more affordable Jaguar-specific models from Foxwell and iCarsoft.
Cheers,
Don
