Noticed that the flimsy fabric on the hood liner was loose and being sucked up against the engine air intake. Glued the liner wherever I could with spray adhesive. Added several more push in retainers, be careful drilling, in several sagging areas. Fabricated a stiff wire to hold the fabric away from the intake and also used push in retainers. Actually think i'm getting better mileage. 05 VDP

 

Nice, I have same issue with liner being sucked into intake. Did this work out for you and more pictures of what you did?

 

My liner disintegrated so I took it all off
Thought about replacing it then looked at my
Mercedes -no liner
Wife's Mazda -no liner
so did not bother
Why do they fit liners anyway?
Just keeps the engine bay hot and makes
the plastic bits brittle.

 

Deep stuff, Sorry that car is in Az and I'm not. I believe I added those two push ins, and I think it was still loose so I fabricated and installed that stiff wire. Tom.
