not sure if this problem has been covered here before but my hood release latch broke. i searched online for a replacement: ebay, amazon, jaguar grave, even some import salvage yards along houston. i managed to find a used one locally for 30 dollars i felt it was a cheap price. after i got home i noticed it was broke exactly where mine broke. i was lucky the guy gave me my money back.
i eventually bit the bullet and bought a new one. turns out the dealer sells them for just a tad more. 38 dollars (before taxes) i was shocked and happy to see that sometimes dealers don't gouge you in prices all the time.
just wanted to drop this helpful tip if anyone has this problem in the near or distant future. happy motoring everyone!

 

Glad it worked out for you. I go through Terry's Jaguars and even with shipping costs, it's usually cheaper than the local Jag dealer here. For used, I go through European auto parts out of Atlanta. I needed a part last week that the dealer had for $73 and had to be ordered. I got it for $17, delivered via FedEx two days later. It pays to shop around if you can.
Good that you got your money back on the first one as well.
