Default How do you remove the front headrest?

Doing a few jobs on my front seats including fitting seat heater pads and dealing with an intermittent airbag light..
Need to get the seat cover off and therefore need to get the headrest off, which is motorised on my xjr, don't know if this is the case on all models,

I'm looking at the workshop manual and it appears to say that you just use brute force and pull?
Is that how its done?. As usual I'm trying not to break anything while I'm supposed to be fixing things!

Brute force.

Raise the headrest to its highest position, grab the two chrome rods, and pull up. I've found the best position to do this in is actually sitting in the rear seat with the front seatback reclined considerably back. The fit is incredibly tight, but it will release with enough force. The procedure is described in the workshop manual, and I didn't believe it myself until it finally let go. I've done it a handful of times.
