I am a new 2004 VDP owner and after a day or so of owning it my hood would not pop. The drivers side would release but the passenger side would not. Here is what my problem was. Hope this helps someone else.



First you need to remove the front air dam plastic.



Next you will see the latch assembly. For some reason the small ball on the end of the cable jumped out of the latch so it wasn't pulling assembly to release. My guess is someone (me) slammed the hood to hard and it jumped out.





The pictures are the passanger side latch assembly. You do not have to go through the fender, it was MUCH easier just to unscrew the air dam and you can see both assemblys.

The pictures show the metal ball on the end of the cable back in place. If this is your problem you will see the ball out of the guide and simply pop it back in.
