I have an electrical problem with my headlights

Assuming that you mean that the left and right hand beams were flickering simultaneously that would seem to rule out any problem in the headlamp units themselves.
Checking the wiring diagram I see each side has its own earthing point, so earths, sorry - grounds, would not seem to be the problem.
Others on this forum have reported problems with the switch in the lighting stalk on the steering column.

Doesn't matter, light stalk still a possibility. I also had this issue and also keep it on auto. If you have nav you may also notice that it switches from night to day mode when the lights flicker (if you have this option set to auto of course).

I had this on-off flickering with both sides, and a new lighting switch cured it.
Other symptom was that during the day I had been noticing for some time the satnav display flickering between day mode and night mode. I suspect the headlights were also doing the same, (scary !!). Again, this fault also disappeared.
