has anyone used this model for their 2006 XJ8? I was looking to buy it, but would like to know if my $300 will be well spent!

Cheers!

It's a good device. I have the same model, but the cheaper Jaguar specific version.

The one you linked to, has the software for most of the other brands of vehicle. It would be a more versatile tool if you are going to use it on various vehicles. If you only want it for your Jag, then you can save yourself some money by buying the Jag specific reader.

I got mine here:

I'm no expert and I'm not sure that I can answer that for you.

I've used it to diagnose an issue with the ABS and another issue with my parking sensors. It worked great for both of those.

I was looking at one of these as well. It would be great to know if it would read body/chassis codes such as suspension errors.

Anyone know?
