Default INSIDE diameter of MAF housing?

I am taking the steps for calibrating a bigger MAF housing for the OEM Denso sensor, so as to bypass the need for the ProM or Abaco aftermarket MAFs.

Thankfully I am not alone, as Cambo & MoscowLeaper are doing the heavy lifting. Basically one needs to know the inside diameter of the OEM MAF housing, and the inside diameter of the new one, so as to properly calibrate injectors. It's been ages since I swapped the airbox with a cone, and my parents apparently misplaced my old boxes of car parts which I left at their house.

Could someone please take a measurement of the inside of the stock MAF housing (XJR)?

I've got my air intake out of the car for some A/C repairs. This evening I can dig out my dial bore gauges and post numbers.

Well, in the 3 years since I built my last engine, my gauges ran out of battery. So, my answer will unfortunately be delayed, but I'm interested to know as well and will revisit after I've gotten new batteries but it's probably a couple days on my end.

Sorry this took so long. Measuring on the exit side (airflow towards the engine) of the MAF housing on a 2005 XJ Super V8, there is a slightly wider lip at the edge -- I measured past this edge part to capture the inside of the tube. I found that mine was not a perfect circle (effect of heat and age?) and my measurements were:
  • 74.2 mm side to side
  • 74.9 mm top (where MAF sensor sits) to bottom
On average that would be 74.55 mm inside diameter which is not a commonly found (at least based on some searches I did) ID for aftermarket MAF housings.

I appreciate you remembered to reply after all this time! It was important to note that for the stock system, ~75mm is the ID, not the OD.

Thanks for the help!
