I recently bought a 2006 XJ8L with black leather interior. But I'm not sure of the surface material of the dash, door handles and door panels. Are they leather or plastic? They feel soft like leather buy I'm unsure whether to use leather conditioner or a plastic cleaner conditioner like ArmorALL. I live in Arizona and the sun does a number on interiors!

 

You can use leather products on vinyl just fine. It depends on the car as to what is leather and what is vinyl. I would just use a good leather cream on all of it.

 

Dash is vinyl on the non VDP/Super V8 models. The inserts in the doors and handles are leather, but the window sills are vinyl.

 

I think they all all synthetic

 

On the Vanden Plas (and I assume Super V8), it is leather, or at least advertised as such (two piece leather dash).

 

But he siad he has regular XJ8, so it is synthetic; and that has to be a good thing for him as he is in AZ.

My 2004 VDP looks like a vinyl dash. Pretty much everything else is leather.
