@Paula

Your work around proves you have a battery problem. If you lessen the load by switching lights and a/c off at cranking, the cruise gets enough juice and doesn't give the error. Given that your battery is failing, I guarantee we soon see another thread with some other "weird" electrical issue, to which you will get the same reply, ie change the battery. The battery for my Super V8 was LESS EXPENSIVE than the battery in my wife's Integra. Why wait for the inevitable to happen?

@Brake boost
Not sure from your post if you have exactly the same issue? ie you only get the error upon first start? Or you never get cruise ever?

And the cure was??? Frankly, the thread is useless unless resolved.

The issue was resolved by changing the battery.

I took the lights off auto for starting and keep the battery on the battery conditioner when I left the car for extended periods. It has solved the problem. I'll nurse the battery for awhile longer since I don't drive the vehicle that often. I will be interested to see how my Skoda Superb battery held up on the conditioner for 6 mnths in the UK. I'm still amazed at the mileage the modern diesels are getting there!

It's odd that low voltage would be the cause if, once started, the charging voltage would be 13.8 or better. I'll try the battery and report the outcome.

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I replaced the battery too. Please let us know what you find out!

Default no cruise availible

I use my 06 very little these days. So after three weeks I get the error which means the battery is low. Run the car five minutes turn it off and back on and then error clears.

The cruise module was the cause of the error message. $2400 for the part, installed it myself and had the dealer enact and calibrate it for $130. No used units available and even if they were, the dealer would have to match and enable it. Unless of course you want to purchase the software package for $3300. Sucks but there are no alternatives.
