Default Intermittent fault

My 2005 XJ8L has just over 53000 miles on it and has been more or less faultless so far, until today. I got gas this morning (Sunoco premium) and the car ran fine on the 25 mile drive into Dallas from Plano. The car ran fine on the way home, I stopped off at the coin operated car wash and washed the car, drying it carefully and then headed off for the last 2 miles home. I went around a left turn and all of a sudden the "ENGINE FAULT", "DSC UNAVAILABLE", "PARKING BRAKE FAULT" warnings came up in sequence and the engine had absolutely no power. After shutting the car off for a few minutes it started and ran normally until the next stop light when it went into limp home mode. Restarting it again seemed to reset things until I could get home.

I have checked the notorious under trunk floor compartment and it was dry as a bone. After sitting for a few minutes at home it started and ran normally--until I made another left turn and gave the car a bit of gas--limp home mode again.

Any thoughts about what it could be would be appreciated! As would any recommendations for an independent mechanic in the Plano, TX area.

Thanks!

Jim

Search the forum for "PARKING BRAKE FAULT"

For example this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=9863
suggests it could be either throttle body of MAF sensor.
