I ordered their chrome mirror caps and the performance intake kit. In the next month or two I will likely install the Mina Gallery exhaust as well. After that maybe some DUBs are in order...?

Hey! I'm thinking about the mirror caps. How well do they fit? I wonder how they look vs the actual replacement chrome caps. Do the ones you have affix with double sided tape? How do they look?

Hey BMW, when you going to sell me your STR? I would feel comfortable buying yours. I know you take good care of it.

Don't have them yet but they are on the way. I assume they istall like the "factory" ones do, by snapping onto the mirror frame. If
not back they will go..........

I've been thinking about doing the mirror caps as well. Let me know (when you get them) if they came as the snap in kind or the double sided tape one and where you ordered them from. I'd hate to order the double sided tape one. Thanks.

The intake and mirror caps arrived yesterday. Intake kit fits well but needs better finishing IMHO. Anyway once it's installed it looks pretty good and gives the engine a nice growl. As for the mirror caps they are to be held on with double sided tape. Not 100% sure I'll be keeping them, I think I'll remove one of the stock caps and see just how and where the attatchment points are. If the mounting surfaces look good I'll hit them with some solvent and hope they stay put...

Next up, MINA GALLERY exhaust............

Nice, you gotta love a cat with a little growl. Where'd you order them from?

You can get the chrome mirror covers from the dealer. They are factory fit from VDP. They are made for the car and replace the existing covers.

Let us know how difficult it is to pop off the painted OEM caps to install the others. I had assumed the tape on version would just attach over the original painted caps.

Let me know how these tape on mirror caps look and fit as soon as you get them installed. Also post pix when you get a chance.

OK, after actually taking these to the car for installation I can see they are intended to be installed over the existing missor cap with the double stick tape. Pretty cheesey look IMHO so I'll be sending these back and getting a set from the dealer.

Thanks for the feed back on the mirror caps! I guess I'll just bite the bullit and spring for the OEM chrome caps as well. No sense in goin' cheap at this stage of the game! I did see those replacement caps on E-Bay a while back for about $200 for the pair.

I added the chrome mirror covers that I bought on the internet, but can't remember where I got them. They were $100 the pair and replaced the painted ones perfectly. They came in Jaguar parts boxes. I got the mesh grill and cold air intake from Jaguar XP. Later on I got the Mina exhaust. Sounds and looks good. After about a month of driving, I kept getting the engine light indicating the engine was running too rich. I cleared it, but it kept comming back and I was getting reduced performance. I took in to the service shop and after much testing, they determined that the cold air intake was causing the error code. I was skeptical because it had been installed for over a year and the error code didn't show up until after the exhaust was installed. Luckily I saved the old air box. I reinstalled it, cleared the code and the error has not returned. It must have had something to do with the combination of the cold air intake and the exhaust system.
