Default Just curious: How much trouble to remove the speedo cluster?

Had a small noise on occasion from in behind there and sat in my car today, contemplating if opening a bank vault with dynamite would be a simpler task.

Primarily I was curious about how to remove the wood without damaging it or what the proper procedure for getting to the cluster would be.

Thanks in advance.

My gauge cluster got condensation behind it. When the light is right you can see ugly droplets dried on the inside of the glass. I asked my dealer what it takes to get at the other side of that glass. He told me, and I later confirmed on JTIS, that you start by removing the center consol.

Can you believe it? Needless to say, my instrument glass is still dirty and likely to stay that way untill a problem a lot bigger than that presents itself.

Well, that sounds about as practical to attempt as giving a fish a bicycle.

Nice U2 reference. Also, I only think about 6 screws or bolts hold the center console in. I have a broken vent and tried to remove the wooden air bag cover and couldn't. I was to afraid to break the wood.
