Just an idea...
I have a x350 jaguar XJR, I am in love with the car.
Just had an idea, if I could add the throttle blip feature on my car,
Because on the XKR 4.2 it does that, with the same gearbox.
I was just thinking that the software would be different on the transmission control module. So I have got the same engine except for the VVT and the same gearbox. Can it be easy done?
I'm just thinking that the Jaguar engineers didn't add this feature to the XJR, because it shouldn't be so sporty as the XKR, because let's face it, it's a four-door sedan. I also know that the STR doesn't do the throttle blip on downshifts.
I have just read a very interesting article about the 4.2 X KR.
About how the gearbox operates, it only does the throttle blip in sport mode or when downshifting using the steering wheel mounted paddles.
Here is a link to the article: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/jaguar/...r-ar10593.html
So, does anyone have any experience on this subject?
Can it be easy done?
Or do I have to change the steering wheel to the one with the paddles and the The gearbox shift knob, from the J gate to the L gate ?
If someone has already done that, please forward me to the thread.
Thank you for reading,
Daniel.
