Looking at 2007 VP
I've been driving BMWs for several years (Z3 and 5 Series) but have been thinking of making the jump across the channel. I found an 2007 Vanden Plas with 67000 miles. Its seems in excellent shape, 3 owners (1 corporate for a year), and drives well. The only thing I see that needs attention is the headline (3 years in Florida). I found the what to look for thread to be very helpful but any other advice? They want about 15k for the car.
The 'What to look for...' thread is the best place to start (I see you did - great).

Price feels 'about right'.
Also, Don will be along to advise you to post an introduction in the following thread too !!

That sounds like a good price, I recently brought home my 05 VDP for $15000 at 78k miles. These are wonderful cars. Things you should check are
-take some time and play "timmy toggle" with all the electronic buttons and doodads to see if anything is broke. The owners manual is pretty informative there.
-look for stains on that headliner. That indicates that the sunroof drains may be clogged
-look through the wheels at the tie rod boots, if they are cracked and deteriorated then the chances are that all the clear crap boots jag uses are the same. they may not be loose now but will in the future.
-try to drive it on a rutted hwy road. If it is a bit of a handfull to keep straight, then bushings are on the list to replace. If no rutted roads then find the smoothest flattest stretch and SLIGHTLY turn the steering wheel left and right like 1 degree and feel for responsiveness and play. these cars are very tight when everything is right.
-also listen for slight clunks coming from the suspension while going over bumps
other than that just look for the usual paint overspray from shoddy body repair and leaks underneath.
