Yesterday I opened my door from the inside, and heard a snap. The handle still works, but flops around a bit. I bought a used one (on the way) but am not sure that is the handle, or actuator. Still works, but nursing it until I can open it up. The older jags had a bad habit of breaking interior and exterior handles. So my question is the chicken or the egg? Or are the handles more prone to break before actuators?
I'm glad that the door cards on the x350 come off much easier than others. I'm just not in the mood for broke fir trees/ ripped door cards.

 

You are probably aware that the handle/lock arrangement is all plastic and there is a cable between

the handle and the actuator.

The sheath of this cable is located in a plastic slot at both ends and it's posible

that one of these has broken.

 

So hoping that it is the handle. (easier to change, and cheaper). Next I would hope the cable (still cheaper than an actuator) I'll open it up this week after I receive my replacement handle. Once open (pray first) it should be clear.

The cable may have just slipped out of it's plastic holder. This happened to me one time when I was reattaching the door card. Literally would take you 10 minutes to check.

 

Prior to this issue, the handle felt tighter by the day. Then "snap". The resistance felt like a plastic on plastic resistance, with a creak.
For all of you out there that have had actuator malfunctions, when the actuator is failing, does it affect the outer handle?

 

Replaced my drivers int door handle. Replacement had a small scratch on the chrome handle that is driving me nuts. After I had it all buttoned up I realized how to press out the pin on my broken handle. Just needed to swap the spring. I'll go at it the next time I pull the door card.
These door cards are way easier to pull than anything in the past. No fir trees to break.

 

I am thinking the spring on my driver door handle just broke. Handle is floppy at rest, the first 30 degrees of movement, but then feels normal and opens the lock no problem. Inspecting behind the handle shows a spring which is not under tension and the upper and lower halves move independent of each other.

Is it possible to buy just the spring?
