Main engine earth/ground "One time use only"
Took off the main gearbox to body earth today to give it a clean and replace as a matter of course. It was a bit dirty but nothing to be too worried about however there was a sticker stuck on it saying
"Warning, one time use only new lead must be fitted if disconnected from body"
Anyone have any ideas why?
Ps, if anyone happens to be under the engine its worthwhile cleaning the side attached to the body, the join to the gearbox was clean though.

Hi the_driller,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
That's very interesting regarding your engine ground strap. I have removed and cleaned the one on our '04 XJR and did not notice a "one time use" label. What is the year, model and engine of your Jaguar?
Also, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a Must and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jag and give you a proper welcome.
Cheers,
Don

Thanks Don. I could only assume maybe since the crimps were aluminum they may have been coasted with something to prevent corrosion and by removing the strap it wears off this coating. Who knows.
