Ok its done. I planned this out for a year but got exactly what I wanted. This is the sound I was looking for.

I got a Stamped X pipe 2.5" installed as close as I can to the cats. 2.5" pipe all the way back to the factory mufflers.

It sounds like an aston martin. Very subtle but delivers a smooth sound. On freeway its almost factory. Heres what I learned. On my XKR back then same setup didnt sound as tone or exotic, but louder. I noticed the supercharger throws off the sound a lot. The N/A engines sounds refine and smooth.

The rear mufflers do sound good. I know they have some restrictions but no drone at all. So I kept them intact after purchasing performance mufflers to replace them. No need.

can't wait to see/hear! This is something I've thought about.

 

I'm certain the cams are quite different between the NA and SC versions of the 4.2 which would change the sound of the exhaust quite a bit.
