hi! naso, may i know if you know the price of the rear toe adjustment link you used (2W93-4K139-BC) I am also considering to change all the busing and control arm on my 05 XJ8L..

and did new suspension you used is firmer.. then the air suspension? like BMW? I have an Alpina B7 (E65) so... wondering if the KYB/Bilstein + Eibach spring did a great job.. many thanks.

So the Lincoln LS rear upper arms are p/n 6W4Z5500AA and 6W4Z5500AB (left and right, not sure which is which)

The Lemforder p/n 3063401 are not showing up on Rockauto, and their Lincoln parts tree has no rear upper arms. Did yours come from a Ford part supplier?

The lincoln part number for the toe rod is 6W4Z5B551AA. I do not know the exact price, because those sexy *******s over at strutmasters sourced and paid for them for me. While I was searching, I found that they typically go for north of 100$ each. But ebay has off brand pairs for 100$. I would call local parts stores and try to find it that way, it may end up to be a happy medium betw=n price and oem.

The suspension is pretty firm, I have had the chance to go out and make some hairs stand up. I live in a pretty nice area to test the suspension out ride wise, the roads are quite bumpy and have lots of corners.

If you are a Jaguar purist, and must have that air ride comfort, then this kit is not for you.

If you are looking for a Bimmer feel then do it and don't look back. The suspension is stiffer, and you feel WAY more imperfections in the road, but the handling and body roll has been drastically improved with out a doubt. At over 100mph the car no longer feels like it might just fly away. You can stick the car into a corner without feeling like you are in a midsized suv.

Reminds me of a nicely tuned m5 suspension.





Those arm numbers are in fact for the ford. They do in fact fit.

The Lemforder tree does not show them as being listed as a compatible part, but as you can see from the pictures I posted, they fit perfect and are stamped Jaguar for good measure,. My rears are oem and my front are an off brand, you can see the manufacturer name in the photos.

Yes they came from a Ford supplier.

Couple of videos. I guess the microphone quit on me for the second one.

The mic is in the trunk, so there is a lot of road noise transferred but not to terrible.

the road looks flat, but I can assure you that these old County farm roads are anything but smooth. although they damn sure do make for good fun. You just have to watch out for the occasional big green tractor or crazy dear.

I just put a H8 AGM in mine last night. The battery replaced was a less than four year old Interstate 93 series. It weighed about half what the Advanced Auto Parts battery goes.

Control arms rolling in. Rear lower control arms from Ford have the Jaguar ground off. But the SC is still molded on arms!

Hey guys and gals :-)

I don't have much to report on the car, sorry it has been so long since an update.

With all the little odds and ends that I have spent on the car, I just kind of took a break working on it I suppose.

Still saving up for the twin screw, but for right this moment it is on the back burner.

I was asked to post an update on the conversion, so here goes;


Seems fine to me. Lol.





Seriously though, the car rides great, I have put a good amount of mileage on the car over the past month because I completely gutted my BMW on a whim one day and it took me more than three weeks to put it all back together, more on that in a moment.

The suspension has softened a tad, it hasn't developed any noises or anything issues what so ever. Rides comfortable but not like the airbag ride, it feels like a nicely tuned sport suspension.

I am very pleased with it, and FOR WHAT I LIKE and for the direction the car seems to be going, in my opinion it is better than the airbag ride was.

But, if you are a purist and do mostly highway mileage and do not want to loose comfort than I don't think I could honestly recommend it.

My father inlaws first impression was something like "It doesn't ride like a Jag anymore", and that is true.

But again, to me, the way I want a car to handle, the additional confidence in handling and cornering makes it a solid investment that I do not regret in the least.

Huge shout out again to Ken at Strutmasters for the work they performed.


Nothing else to report other than my headliner is dying and I hate my transmission.. In summary all is well.




So who wants to see the Bimmer??

What's up with the transmission? I thought you just changed out the fluid? I need to do that soon. Mine feels clunky on cold days until it warms up.

I almost always get a slight bump going from first to second gear it only ever seems to be from 1st to 2nd gear and it doesn't seem to be major.

But it is annoying, and all of my Bimmer guys I talk to who run the same transmission in for example the 7 series or the 335 or the 550 which are all powerful cars...

Seem to have an issue like that, and they all seem to speak of perfectly shifting transmission.

This "thump" will only happen in light acceleration situations, like bumper to bumper traffic. If I move to greater than 20% throttle at take off the issue is non existent.. Obviously on a car like this though 20% throttle is not ideal under all situations. So again, annoying.

I have also heard other users on this forum say similar things.

Also, and this will only happen if the car is below temp, I will get a 100-200rpm fluctuation at speeds 45-55mph..

Which to me sounds like a torque converter issue. (Weirdly enough, my mustang and Stype used to do the same thing.)




Anyhow...

I did this..

Gutted, dyed, sexy style.

Added a beautiful pair of M6 heated sport seats (did a heated seat retrofit).

From all tan to black on M3 Cinnamon.

I absolutely love the seats.. I got them for 500$ shipped from Canada. Which is a great deal, the headrest alone go for $300-800 a pair.

I still have to source some pillars as you see but I am pretty happy with it. I also had a helper lol.

My 04 XJ8, after purchasing it out of state and driving it back home, took on some very strange behavior from the 6HP26. What helped the most, and especially the 1-2 flare was to do an adaption using SDD. I now have perfect shifts again. It's tricky to get the right pedal and torque to relearn 1-2 shift, and I ended up in a neighborhood with little traffic and flat road with numerous stop and takeoffs until the graph in ZF adaption relearn got the right input and saved. You can find it under diagnostics, transmission, recommendations.
