Evening Gang

So, after a break of a few years, I'm back behind the wheel of a Jag again. This will be my 8th since 2000, the new one is a 2006 XJ8. For her age, shes not a bad looking kitty.

For many years I hung in the forums at jag-lovers.org and for the life of me, dont even remember my log in anymore lol While searching google for a few answers for tinkering, this site seemed to be the new place.... so here I be :0)

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Christian

Thanks Fraser, Xj8jr and Pkoko. Anindyam, she is a long wheel base yes, although for the life of me I can't work out why she wasn't badged VDP lol. Its Like jaguar got 75% there with her then decided no...too late on a Friday. Or it was a special order with paint, front grill, wheels and full on burl walnut on a base model.

From what I see all that's missing from a VDP package is the piped seating with the picnic tables, maybe the 6 CD changer in the trunk and the badging.

Either way.... she turns heads lol mine included :0)

I too love the wheels! My 05 Super V/8 has the same wheels but I changed the center caps to match the red paint. I've seen blue center caps on EBAY as well. It has the super V/8 grille? and wheel base. 18 or 19 inch wheels?

Odd combination but a good one. I think the PO preferred the Super V/8 grille and wheels. Is the roof console surrounded by wood or plain headliner material? The Super and the VDP both had wood matching the dash.

I know right! She really is an odd duck but suits me in that respect lol Nope the surround around the roof switches is plain not wood. I'd forgotten about that detail. I was also not expecting the full wood steering wheel either but I wont turn my nose up lol. She also has the Full sized chrome spare in the trunk which was such a pleasant surprise considering I was expecting a steel wheel or a doughnut!

I cant believe it took me a day or three to notice (well I can as when I got her that was a crazy few days and I really didn't have time to play with her) but you will see she has a trim piece missing on the drivers side lower bumper surround. I'm debating to replace like for like or maybe do something a tad more....dressy. To be honest I haven't even looking to see what my options are yet which is weird in itself lol

I believe that's the tie down hook cover. They make a grille piece that can go in there to match the mesh grille. $125. EBAY.
