Hey all I'm replacing my timing chains and guides on my 04 Xj8. Just got this in the mail and I'm feeling a bit nervous about using this part due to the cracks and wondering what your thoughts are if it's good to use or should be returned.
Do you think it might be relevant to say which brand?
Answer 1: it looks like an iceberg breaking off Antarctica.
Answer 2: it looks like nothing more than the side-finishing.
Be careful. They might sue you if you improperly state the wrong brand (pmsl)

I've never heard of DNJ before now, they have a decent website so thanks for that
"We are proud to say we have chosen to associate with manufacturers who are associated with ISO9001..." ...in other words they don't have ISO9001 themselves?
Who knows. They appear to be American, but then so is Donald Trump.
The "crack" itself would not greatly concern me, though I would certainly be questioning the credentials of the supplier, and on that score I have none.
Offset against: if a timing chain guide packs up, you will likely total your engine and therefore the entire car. I would only ever buy OEM for such a critical part, but that's just my alarmist opinion.
"You cannot blame Jaguar if you fit a non-Jaguar part" -jeez with a line like that I could get a job with them!!! We are proud to say we have chosen to associate with manufacturers who are certified with ISO9001, We are proud to say we have chosen to associate with manufacturers who are certified with ISO9001, We are proud to say we have chosen to associate with manufacturers who are certified with ISO9001,

Ya i would love to get OEM parts but it just breaks my current budget / bank account a little too much. Thank you for the response. I have emailed the supplier and the manufacturer looking to see what their thoughts are as well.
