Oil Filter adapter
Anyone know of a good supplier for Part# AJ8003472, Oil Filter Adapter.
Gaudin Jaguar in Vegas just quoted me $115. My plan is to call Nalley since that's who I've always dealt with, but I'm just looking for other options in case.
Nothing like pulling the filter off & the adapter being stuck on, locking it in a vise didn't even work. Cross threaded horribly no doubt!

If you're sure its ruined (unusual due to the large guage of the threads), you might try Coventry West or Motorcars Ltd. Coventry has a junkyard too, this would be fine used.
Take the piece to a well equipped machine shop. They have a tool described as a split die. It has 2 pieces that fit around the good threaded portion of the adapter, is then bolted together and backed out over the damaged threads, thereby restoring the threads.
You can buy these tools yourself but they only come in kits with multiple
sizes and therefore get rather expensive. Come to think of it - I never checked Harbor Freight Tools, Inc. If they carry such an item the price will most probably be cheaper than machine shop charges.
