Poor sensor contact with the cylinder block
KS to ECM sense circuit short circuit to ground
KS failure

This is the info on this error code. Does anyone know the likely source of the short circuit or continuity break. could it be as simple as a rusted ground wire or something?

thanks for any help or opinions - My car is a 2004 xj8 and it is currently in performance restriction mode because of this error I think.

 

There was a post on here very recently showing the location of a connector

on the top of the engine where the KS can be tested.

It could well be just a faulty KS which is just a coil and

has gone open circuit.
