Default P1646 and replacing an upstream bank 1 sensor

Hello all,
I had an engine management light come on today and when read on my OBDII reader it came up with code ‘P1646’ with pending codes ‘P1111’ and ‘P1646.’ The pending codes I don’t think I’m concerned with but after research ‘P1646’ points to an upstream oxygen sensor failure in bank 1.

I’ve got one of the big ‘ole V8s (2004 X350 XJR) which I’m sure will inhibit the ease of replacing this due to the size of the engine being in the way. I think I can spot where the upstream sensor is and was going to have a go at replacing myself as it looks like a ‘plug and play’ job.

Has anyone had any experience on replacing one of these on a similar model and could lend any advice?

Many thanks

Dan

Search will probably get you other posts. Not too hard to do.
Workshop manual includes all the causes, which need not be the sensor - though it usually is.
