Default Parking brake dashboard warning light normal operation

Hi Guys

Can someone confirm if what i describel below is normal operation for parking brake warning light on the dashboard.

1) So this seems normal put handbrake on, light comes on, relase parking brake light goes off
2) With ignition or engine running... when I move from P to D with foot on brake light goes off

3) My real question is this one.... so when I turn off with the car in Park the warning stays on for a few seconds and then goes off, this happens whether the parking brake is engaged on or released before i turn the engine off, is that normal, does the parking brake dash light come on for a few seconds on all cars when you turn off the engine.

Not sure if US spec cars are different... Im in ireland with a 2.7 diesel

Unless you hold the release button down when removing the key, it will set. releasing when put the car in gear.
So yours sounds like its working fine.
