Whilst replacing the front suspension on my 2004 VDP, I found this part resting inside the front bumper. It gives the appearance of being brand new. I want to think it’s been sitting in there since the car was built at the factory. I don’t know what this part is, but it seems like maybe a fitting of some kind. What do you guys think? Photos are of the part and me pointing to where I found it.
It looks like a nut used for some part of the suspension. Check the thread and compare it with the suspension bolts.
Might be that it was dropped at a certain time whilst doing some work on the car and not found again... it happens, and then you just use another one.
I think that it has happned at the factory, but during a later service. Why? The nut looks too new, and it does not look like the nuts used in the fasctory, but like one of the redesigned versions.
