How to slim line bumper
Hello 89
By memory, If you go to the search function for the X27 and look up Shooting Brake. He gives a description on how this modification can be achieved.
Also gives you an understanding of what can be done if the want is there
Cheers

But,,,, I think these bumpers are donors from another model and year (era) of Jaguar... I just don't know which... I would imagine getting ones hands on them is the trick... Mods are doable...
For me, here in super congested "bumper to bumper" NYC, my fear of a skinny bumper is,,,, well, you get the idea.

Bumpers above are two sets of XJS blades welded together top to bottom.
I think its it’s an improvement ion the heavy federal blobs, but too thin. I think this technique with a 1 inch rubber strip between the two blades would be more pleasing.

I've often thought of buying Series 1 XJ6 bumpers to see if they could be modified to fit the XJ-S. But in the end, I want to reproduce the external appearance of the TWR racers, and like the stick bumpers (euro versions) well enough.

The problem with aluminum is it's a b to work with. Doesn't bend well, if bent to far it begins to fracture. So would be near impossible for the average person to create the 90 corners required for the bumpers. Oh, and the welding is far tougher, and unless you are expertly skilled as a welder, they usually don't come out very pretty. IMHO Bad Idea. Just my Thoughts
