Default Pirelli P6's on 05 XJR and Snow

Picked up the car last night, now the real decision, Will the P6's preform ok int he snow, has anyone had experience with them most reviews I read on tire rack hate these tires all around. Am I better off gettign a set of 18" rims with dedicated snowtires like the dunslop wintersport m3's?

Judging from what a friend who lives in Lancaster, PA, told me about the winters he gets, (like 6 feet of snow !), when he came to visit us in the UK, if you can afford it I would go for the extra set of wheels with winter tyres

I intend to keep the car, and have some connections int he slvage industry so the rims would be failry cheap. the 18" tires are cheaper then the 19" by about $60+ a wheel so that helps, I havent read any positive reviews on the P6's in any form so it's concerning.

Get a second set. No all season tires will do well in more than a coating of snow with all of that power going to the rear. I've tried on my regular XJ; it wasn't pretty. Buy winter tires.

I haven't read anythign good abotu the Perelli's in the winter or summer. now I see why these tires are a good price for this car. any suggestions ont he winter tire? I like the brigstone blizzaks but was told the WS is superior to the LM. also used the dunlop supersport M3's on our Mercury Marauder those were good

Hi, I fitted Nokian to my mercedes estate and was so impressed that I ordered Nokian for the Jaguar, they were delivered yesterday and I am having them fitted tomorrow, not sure if they are available over your side of the pond but they rate very highly in the consumer tests over here.
