Possible to upgrade radio?
I searched the archives but could not find the answer to this question. I have a 2005 XJ8/L which has the standard radio system. My understanding is that the standard radio system has 8 speakers (4 door speakers and 4 tweeters in the doors) and about 150 watts. However, my car appears to have 2 additional speakers in the front dash. My question is whether I can buy the amp used in the upgraded Alpine system to increase the power to my existing speakers, and to also use the speakers in the front dash.
Also, would it be possible to install the upgraded Alpine System in a car with the standard radio system? I like to keep the car stock with OEM jaguar parts, so I am not interested in using aftermarket equipment. I previously owned a Jaguar with the upgraded Alpine system and was very happy with the sound quality. My current car with the standard radio system sounds very flat compared to the upgraded system.
