Default Prospective Super underneath-pics

Ok, thanks for all the patience with the last loser Super I was looking at.

Here's the latest suspect, 95k,decent history, no records of suspension or other major work but some at Jag dealers of maintenance.

My question, since the last one was a rustoleum bucket, is do these photos look kosher? No pics of the front end which could be the rusty end but how about that 'crack' in the one photo? Help with getting my bearings underneath would be mucho appreciated.

I should say there an accident report on the autocheck-he claims a front bumper and headlight replacement but that's what they all say-'repainted bumper cover.'

You're looking at diffusor panels which typically look like this at this age. You need to see a lot more of this car before you can make a good decision. Have you seen it in person yet?

Still diffusor panel, nothing to be concerned about. Can be replaced for not too much money.

The one in Orlando? It has been up for a while, was actually thinking of suggesting it to you but figured you had seen it already.

That's the one-St Cloud actually-a tad closer to me. The diffuser is plastic is it?

And what should be my checklist tomorrow? I'll have a hour or so or sunlight(nice bright FL sun tho). Need to see what the body repair was 1st I know.

How do I check the air springs? Any leaky areas to check with a flashlight? Extraordinary noises, clunks and what should normal noises be like(save for the blower)?

And 94 k miles shouldn't scare me off?

Only an hour? Don't think that is long enough. What are you prepared to pay for out of pocket for bringing the car to spec? At that mileage, you're due for a 100K service + whatever other maintenance may be needed. Not sure what you've discussed regarding pricing or what the seller is willing to pay for.

Depending on scheduling I might be available by phone to discuss some key areas to inspect.

Sending you a PM

100k service?

I may the only person who's spent $400 on Jaguars and never even owned one...

Reserve is about 14k so low trade in price...boneheads may bid it up though...

What year is this car?

At that price I can probably get you something newer with much less miles.

Take care,

George

uhh, hang with here-not as of yet. Checked it out and decided to hang in there for an unrefurbished one-will have to pony up some more $ but the right one's out there for less than NADA super retail. Thanks for all your efforts.

Good idea! There is a nice one in Miami with only 8,000 miles on it.

Only 40kmore...I see it's an '09.

I calculate, as a professional XJ shopper, that a dime/mile is the figure for +/- on the value of a jag=$1000/10k. And about $2500/year >4 years old.

And this one has no appeal for we of little faith in Jag depreciation-one of the big factors in buying a used Jag. The 05 I came close on lost 11k/year for the orig owners....
