Default Rear Brake Pad and Rotor replacement - caliper dragging?

Hello all,

My rear brakes were due for replacement. I put on new pads and rotors, the job was easy and went smoothly. I made sure to use the new hardware clips and proper lube. Now when driving my rear left appears to get much hotter then the rear right side. For causal city driving it does not seem to bad. When driving on the highway or at higher speeds and using the brakes it does appear the rear left is much hotter then the other side and I can smell the brakes after I park.

Any ideas? Do I need to replace the calipers? Anyone else run into this? Brake fluid is about 4 years old. I did reset the parking brake with no difference.

Any input is appreciated

Had it on my xj8
now have on xj6.
suppose same problem. The guiding/sliding pins.
. Rusted from inside blocking free movement of the calipper.
The holes on the calipper it self should be washed out with brake cleaner and a brush ,use one thin strip of ceramic grease on the lenght, do not put some on the end .

Thank you for the idea. Lately although the temperature seems the same as the other side I can smell the brake. I will try that first and report back.
