Default Rear diff correct fluid type?

Hi All,

I recently had my rear diff fluid changed at my independent mechanic (he specializes in Jaguar/Land Rover/Euro repair).

I have the new generation rear end (Gen3 Non E-Diff-X358 XJ from H31471). What is the correct fluid for this rear end? I see the Jaguar approved fluid is the "BOT 750b".

He put in 75W-140 in the XJ. But 75W-90 in my XK. Just want to make sure the correct fluid did get put in.

Thanks!

75W140 is in all gen1 and gen 2 DEW98 diffs.

i think the BOT is a 75W90 of some kind

Would I run any risk using one over the other?

I imagine just fuel economy.
