Default Rear Heated Seats not working

2004, XJR, 390HP, 50K Miles:
I'm having a little problem with our rear seat heaters and would appreciate a nudge. I recently tried to operate our rear seat heaters for the first time...neither side is heating. The three sequential lights for the heating positions (high, med, and low) do not operate and the seats do not heat. We are the second owners of the car, which is in otherwise near perfect condition, I'm not sure the rear seats have ever been used. I am just assuming the car does have rear seat heating...... both because the switches are installed in the rear console and the rear heaters are listed on the new car invoice. The Owners Manual indicates that Fuse F13 in the trunk fuse box provides the power for the seats as well as the Rear Electronics Module (REM)....the fuse is not blown. Could it be operator error ?

Thank you much!

if the lights dont work I would assume an electrical fault. Have you removed the rear vent housing to see if the wiring is plugged in, Someone may have had the center console out and not plugged the wire back up. Its easy to remove just grip on a vertical piece of the vent and pull straight out.. dont grab the fins on the vents as they are easy to break. Once you get it out there should be a connection for the heated seats and two connections for the power sources/cig lighter.

Default Kudos to kthrash

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.....you were right on. The rear console was easy to remove and as you suspected the heater connector was not connected.....I suspect it never had been.

Again....I thank you and I know our passengers will thank you!

Thanks for following up. Luckily, sometimes it is the simple stuff!
