Default Rear Lower Control arms - 04-05 vs 06-'10

Is it possible to use the rear lower control arms from a newer X350 or X358 or XF on a 2004 model year XJ?

For some reason Hollander indicates a change was made sometime in the 2005 year model run (think this effects S type and XJ). Anyone know what changed, or whether these might be interchangable?

The upper rear control arms do interchange as far as I can determine.

I have heard nothing official on this regarding why the change of part number halfway through the life of the X350 cars. There seem to be no dimensional differences in the parts, they look the same etc. I suspect Jaguar changed the spec of the bushes that were wearing out too quickly, (with a chorus of complaints too, BTW !).

I suspect the later arms are backwardly compatible, but nobody has so far spoken up on the forums on this issue. So if anybody knows anything, could they please pipe-up now !

I believe all the bushes are now available as a Polyflex kit.

I don't know about the control arms, but you can purchase the powerflex bushings here for those arms :

Trosty appreciate the link but they only list front bushings

Frasier, after I started this thread I did find a post where someone used 2007 rear lower control arms on a 2004 xj will try to post a link
