Default Recall Action J004

Got in the mail yesterday a recall notice from Jaguar NA, LLC. Says there's an emissions recall for 04-05 XJ.

Now, I'm not the distrusting type (wait, yes I am!) but is this a real recall notice? Anyone else get this letter in the mail?

The affected XK's were sent about a month ago and now for the XJ's. Mine runs just fine as it is now and gets 30+ mpg on the highway. I have heard comments that the mpg deceased after the the reprogramming. If the tranny module is also reflashed, it has to learn your driving style all over again. I'm not in any hurry to get it done!!

My car was in the shop when I received the letter regarding this. I called and asked about it and questioned whether it would cause any problems, and I was told that this was the newer update and nobody was having any problems with it and they would take care of it while it was in. I just picked the car up today, and I haven't noticed any difference in how it drives, so I think its safe to have the current update done.

Took it in last weekend to have it serviced and have had it back for about a week. Seems like nothing changed (which is fine by me!).

Got my letter in the mail and haven't scheduled a time to take care of it yet.

Default recall

Did mine at my last service about 10 days ago. Can't say I've noticed any difference in driving and my 1st tank on mileage is about the same (22.8mpg). I'll see how it goes after awhile and let you know.
