Default Replacing the Power Steering Rack on an 05 Vanden Plas

I have a 2005 Jaguar Vanden Plas with a steering rack that needs replacing and I would like to know what procedures I need to do in order to replace it and how long it'll take to replace the rack.

Big job on that car. Subframe has to come down or at least be lowered to get the rack out. Not a driveway friendly task.

You’ll need to disconnect the steering column inside, drop the subframe at the rear bolts, undo the tie rods, lines, and mounting bolts.

Expect a full day if you know what you're doing. Closer to 8-10 hours. And you’ll need an alignment right after.

Make sure you use the correct fluid afterwards, Dexron III usually. Don't forget the copper washers on the banjo bolts or they'll leak.

Disagree--the subframe does not come out for a rack replacement on the x350. I've dropped the rack partially to replace motor mounts, there's 3 large bolts right through the side.
