Default Restricted Performance

Whenever i am on the Motorway, and i put a little pressure on the Engine, a Restricted Performance (RP) message comes up. Not all the time, but every now and then.

It is a 2.7 TVDI 56 plate and it runs very well, but when i can at times increase the revs then RP appears on the message area. I am wondering if that could be because of a faulty MAF Sensor.

Thanks for your help anyone.

For non-UK, 56 means 2006

Sounds like a classic overboost or sensor limit issue on the 2.7 TDV6.
MAF sensor is possible, but more likely a sticky turbo actuator, split intercooler hose, or the dreaded inlet manifold flap problem.

First thing: clean the MAF with electrical cleaner (cheap fix). If it comes back, get the fault codes read - RP usually logs a P0234 or P006A. Don’t just throw parts at it.
Check the small rubber hoses to the turbo solenoids too. They rot.
