Default S-type Jaguar

Kinda off subject, but are the 4.2, S types, more or less the same as the XJ8's, other smaller in size, and NOT aluminum? Reason is wife loves the looks of those cars, says their more her size. Says the 04 XJ8's just too big, if any other car is steel & is going to rust, why not a smaller steel Jaguar, isnt the drive train the same as the XJ8's in the garage? Good question

Drivetrains are similar, but not much else in common.

Smaller, steel body, not as opulent, just less expensive overall, but attractive, was my take on them myself. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just must not see very well, as she's still with me

Suspension is almost the same as the XJ, but not air sprung. Generally a reliable car that was replaced by the XF.
