Default service schedule/Jag passport

Hi Gang,

can some one point me in the direction of the Jag service manual. I thought I had one in the car, but turns out no passport.

Just looking to see what the recommended intervals are for fluid changes etc...

Going to attempt an oil change this weekend.

Thanks in advance,

Fab

Service interval for X350 petrols is 10,000 miles or yearly. The engine oil and filter is always replaced at that service.

For transmission, there is no recommendation, but my local indie advised it at around 60k miles, so I had it done. This is not a cheap job as the fluid costs a mint, then there is the filter to do too, plus, usually the TCM socket normally has started leaking thus needing a clean-out and a new seal. The seal was improved on later cars, so maybe not needed on yours.

For brake fluid, most shops these days have clever little devices that measure water content and only replace if over the threshold value indicated by the instrument.

For coolant the interval is very long, in fact when I raised this with my local indie I was told not to worry as they always check this too for something or other and only replace if necessary.

Times have indeed moved on since my Series 3 XJ6 which was on about a 6000 mile interval.

10,000miles with conventional engine oil? Seems very long.

is there a copy of the maintenance schedule linked somewhere on the forum?

If you think 10k miles is long, the new XJ is every 15k !

Don't forget the other service trigger - yearly, if you don't make 10k miles in the 12 months.

It'll be 10K or 1yr, whichever is sooner. Essentially like the S-Type here:
