Should I buy an XJR?
#21
Hey how is it going. I am in Mass. too . Maybe we'll Jagxjr fan club soon..lol.
I just bought the Jag here that was linked for $14k above from a veteran member "Androukalis" (aka George).
If you don't mind getting a car virtually (since u know how great an xjr is like i was) or maybe making some effort to travel 300 miles, you should give him a buzz. My purchase w. George can't be any better. The car is as decribed. Every flaws with the car were disclosed prior and the car came better looking than I expected I am a huge skeptics of buying a car online (ebay included). But his credentials on this board really push me in making it happen.
I don't believe he has an xjr now. But he has a dealer license. So he could probably look up a car for you on auctions for some a nominal fee. The only downside - Xjr is a bit rarer than the other xj (besides the super). So you might have to wait a bit if you want to get the car that is in a great shape.
Anyway, good luck with your search! And trust me, in terms of looks, this car worth at least double of what you'd be paying.
Best regards,
Reyza

Proud owner of a 2005 XJR, our fourth Jaguar. The first three were XJ8's. Without doubt the later models were more reliable and required less maintenance other than normal wear. We love the XJR and would highly recommend to anyone. It is a joy to drive and looks and rides great. Blizzak snow tires made a world of difference on our 2000 XJ8 that we sold this summer. Will purchase snows soon for XJR for light winter driving. Preferred XJ8 with snows over all wheel drive SUV to give you idea of how effective we found the Blizzaks to be. Older thread so would be nice to hear from you regarding where you are in your car search.

Sorry guys afraid I went the more inconspicuous route. I would have loved the XJR I'm sure but I think my boss might have decided he gave me too large of a raise if I showed up to work in an $80k car, even if it was used. In any case I bought a Volvo. A 300 hp awd Volvo with adjustable suspension, but still a Volvo
