Side turn signals!
Hey Guys,
I would like to replace the side turn signals on my 04 XJ8 with the clear looking ones from the 07 XJ. Does anyone know where I could find replacements, and does anyone know how difficult it is to replace them?
Thanks,
Mat

Asking to cross-fit parts to other models requires a parts reference list and specialized experience with that very part that may not be available on this forum. This is probably not possible at the dealer parts department!
I know people have gotten them for the X-types, but not sure about the XJ series. A thorough googling of 'clear side repeater' 'clear marker' turn up diddly. You may be out of luck. Now go find something else you can mod.
You can always try to find a salvage yard with an 07 XJ (will be hard though) and buy it to try.

The 04 XJ has the side repeaters as an extension of the body side molding. When the body side molding was deleted in later models, it was changed to an oval one. The oval one is readily available in amber, clear, frost, smoke, blue and green, maybe more. I haven't seen the one that is the extension of the molding in any other colour than amber.

I've been considering this for my ebony '04 XJR; either smoking the side indicator or removing the side molding and either smoking the '04 signal or replacing it with an 06+ indicator. The side indicator on the 04-05 is pretty easy to remove (just put some forward pressure on it and it will angle out). It's held in place via pressure clip, and I imagine the opening in the fender is very long and thin, almost so much so that I wonder if its the same size as the 06-07 opening. Let us know your progress.
