Silly Gas Cap/Dash Warning/ EVAP Question
While I await my evap valve which may or may not be an issue I'm not getting a gas cap fault. I did have code for small evap leak and replaced old cap with new OEM jaguar one. However more recently, this code has been popping up when trying to set my monitors for OBDII inspection along with the dashboard check cap warning. It may be just me but the cap doesnt seem to close with much movement and I cant remember how it used to close or if its the same. I have a bunch of vehicles so I'm not really confident of how it should feel in the closed position.
IS it just a slight twist and that's it? No click or anything? Im looking to see what I did with my original cap to compare. I do know that aftermarket caps I had purchased did not seem to fit well but that was over a year ago.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also...Anything else that can cause that fault?
Thanks!

As far as I know the rule of thumb is to twist cap until you hear it click three times.
That is what works on the X-Type as is commonly spoken about on that forum and what I also do on my XJ8.
