Slightly different roadtrip 22.06.17 + mpg and economy figures
Well, as I said, I had to make a quick trip to Lutterworth, just south of Leicester on the M1 today on business. It was a totally different trip from a few days ago, not so much sight seeing, more just motorway and a long haul.
Up and away a little after 3am, Latte from the garage, topped up with cigs and off we went, she was brimmed with fuel the night before as always.
That time in the morning roads were quiet and made decent progress, although sticking to the limits as I wanted to see what she'd return mpg and economy wise.
I started from Cumbernauld and it was M73, M74 down to Carlisle, then M6 to junction 40 Penrith ( where we'll be meeting in a few weeks time ) then A66 to M1 and down to Lutterworth and slightly beyond. I could've done with leaving perhaps 30 mins earlier as I caught the start of the morning build up for rush hour, but not too bad, here's a rough idea of the route...

The trip down was fairly uneventful and arrived around 08.40am
A quick check showed the following.....Bearing in mind average speed cameras, economy drive, traffic build up etc
Average speed 52mph
44.6 mpg
Miles travelled 340.2
Range remaining 389

The return leg was also pretty uneventful. Starting to tire around 11am ( 2 and a half hours sleep will do that for you lol ) so pulled in and had 40 mins power nap, used the toilet and slunged my face and bought another Latte.
One thing after 25 years and over 1.5M miles travelled all over the UK in that time, never ceases to amaze me the amount of numptys on the road who have absolutely NO CLUE, but I've seen a lot worse
Arrived home around 5.10pm with stats as below........
Average speed 61mph
46.0 mpg
Miles travelled 672.4
Range remaining 50

I did see 46.1 mpg for a brief time but ended on 46.0 mpg.
This was on one tank of fuel, I filled to the brim with 79.54 litres at £1.11 ppl and saw this when I checked
Range.....

I believe under the right circumstances that she'd do 800+ miles on one tank, but have to say, it's a boring and longggg drive, not something I do too often
