Default Stock Wheel Refurbish

The stock wheels of my XJ8 look terrible because there are spots that look deteriorated. I don't feel like spending money on new rims and I'm fine with the style I have. Would it still look good to spray the rims myself using the rim paint sprayer? I'm just hoping the sliver paint would look similar to the silver I already have. Are there any other non-costly alternatives you can think of?

Thanks.

Yes there is. Take the wheels to a paint supplier and have the colour matched. Prepare the surface of the wheels properly and repaint.

I did this with mine and I had bad curb rash on all five of them to contend with and now they look all brand new.

Hope this helps.

Aren't the wheels made of aluminum? I was watching "wheeler dealers" and they used buffers to smooth out the wheels. Here is an interesting video that might help.
