Default Sunroof aft drain holes

Could someone please take a picture of where those sneaky aft drain holes are hiding?

They are toward the far back of the assembly. You can just see them. The drain tube exits in the right and left fender wells, if I recall. You can usually clear them with detergent (from the top down) followed with compressed air into the fender well drain tubes.
Caution! Too much air into a stopped up drain tube can cause the tube to blow off the nipple up at the roof assembly and then you got real problems.

Ugh, I guess I have to replace my vehicles with white cane and a dog! Still can't find the stupid things! Are they out in the open like the front holes? Where do they drain to? I've tested the front ones and they drained behind the front wheels like they're supposed to.

Thanks again!

Yes, out in the open. Look inboard of the fender wells toward the boot.

Default XJ8 X350 X358 Rear Aft Sunroof Drain cleaning procedure.

Recommended procedure: E-Z Peezy!

Required tools/materials:
Wet/Dry shop Vac with 1-1/2" hose
Extension cord & appropriate 120V/240v available.
Jack and Lug wrench to remove wheel.
Jack stand for safety
Turkey baster or similar tool.
Quart of warm water with 1 tablespoon of Fairy Liquid (make the XJ feel at home.)
US and others may substitute Dawn, etc.

Procedure:
Jack XJ, remove a rear wheel.
Lower jack sufficient to slope sunroof toward rear on selected side.
Position jackstand.
Open sunroof. Using baster, add 5 or 6 oz of warm soapy water to sunroof well nearest to outside of vehicle.
Position open end of 1-1/2" vac hose over drain outlet sealing hose against panel.
Have assistant add warm soapy water 5 to 6 ounces at a time, listen for water in vac hose.
If soapy water passes through, continue adding soapy water until you are satisfied that the drain is completely clean.
Note: a clean rear drain will pass about one ounce per second, free flow, without vac.

Remount wheel, clear tools and jacks, proceed to second side, repeat the procedure.

Photo from wheel well, toward rear of vehicle, RH side.
Drain is shown on left of photo, at notch in heat shield. Muffler is at the bottom of the photo. The fender liner was removed to obtain this photo. It is not necessary to remove anything other than the wheel. Feel for the heat shield notch, then the outlet. Place your 1-1/2" vac hose over the drain, pressing the hose end against the panel, inside the notch.

.

Good luck!

Bill

Default XJ8 X350 X358 Rear Aft Sunroof Drain additional thoughts.

The Jaguar design folks apparently located the sunroof drain outlet above the muffler to mitigate ice blockage.
Great idea. However, there is a 90 degree turn just prior to the outlet. Also, during hot weather, heat may bake the accumulated dust to a brick-like consistency.
In extreme cases, it may be necessary to use a welding tip cleaner or small, stiff wire to clear the outlet in addition to soapy water vacuum flushing.

Let us know how the technique works for you.

Best regards,
Bill
