Can anyone tell me what to do about this strip of rubber that was freely laying under the sunroof wind deflector? Is it supposed to be fastened or in a 'fixed' position rather than just laying there?

 

I have nothing like it in that area of my sunroof.

Mine looks exactly like yours except for that rubber strip.

Did you ever resolve this? Just found the same strip in my 2008 XJ8. I’m confused as to where this goes and it’s obvious that it belongs in that area somewhere.

 

I recall reading that extra sunroof soundproofing was added to the X350 in later years, maybe 2007. That's probably it right there.
